I always thought that people entered politics for the power that it affords them. That got turned on its head this week when I noticed the the US Government is only appropriating about one billion dollars next year for renewable energy; that's the same amount as Goldman Sachs is investing in renewable technologies, like wind, solar, biodiesel, and ethanol.
Maybe they think the free market will solve the problem without government intervention or funding. This happens, compare FedEx with the US postal service and see who won that game. Going with private investment is a fine idea, just realize that GS will be running the country in a few years when they own all the energy making apparatus.
